Where to Stay - Shailla and Mathew

Our wedding will take place at The Gallery at Island Resort Athens Riviera, located in Varkiza along the beautiful southern coast of Athens.

For convenient access to the wedding venue, we recommend staying along the Athens Riviera- particularly in Varkiza, Vouliagmeni, Voula or Glyfada. We have arranged preferred wedding rates at three hotels and have also included a few additional recommendations below.

Rooms are subject to availability, so we encourage you to reserve your accommodations early.

Glyfada:

Glyfada has rightfully earned a reputation of being one of the most elegant and upscale suburbs of Athens. Dubbed as “Athens’ own Miami”, Glyfada features a wide range of charming cafes, boutique shops, and chic restaurants lined along with the palm trees of the seafront streets.Here you’ll find vivid nightlife with beach bars, nightclubs, and cocktail bars staying open until the first rays of sunlight during summertime. Glyfada is also home to several beautiful beaches such as Asteras beach with pristine sands and aquamarine waters, combining sunny coasts with a vibrant gastronomy and nightlife scene.

Vouliagmeni & Varkiza:

Further down along the coastline, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza occupy the two sides of a very small peninsula that is home to some of the most magnificent beaches of the Athenian riviera; most notably Vouliagmeni beach, Astir beach, Kavouri beach, and Varkiza beach. Naturally, both these areas are home to some of the most luxurious hotels on the Athens Riviera as well as fancy restaurants, ice cream shops, seaside cafes, and watersports centers.
